On the other side of the Universe...

There is a side storyline that I worked on for a few short weeks, it was not meant to be long or to be deeply intertwined with the main GCTT. I would like to consider it a kind of tragedy with a hero the does succeed, but loses it all in doing so. In this story we follow Tom when he was a young lad, 16-25 is the range. Here we see the extent of his power without the Eternity Gauntlet, we see his past with the Royal Guard, and we also see a form of Chaos (or at least the predecessor to the Chaos Sprites that end up roaming the universe.)

Past the gateway of Jupiter's Red Eye, when the alignment of the celestial bodies in the 13th System occur, only then will you find the path that takes you to a distant place where a rare Quartz like mineral can be found in abundance. For now we call it Citrele, its properties can be engineered to either conduct or amplify and resist or absorb electricity. And the people of the Tric System are those ones who discovered and utilize it every day to its fullest potential. Though to us electricity has become and always will be a commodity, to the Tricians it is a way of life and to lose ones ability to channel it in, around, or out of the body would mean death.

When the Infinity Gauntlet was activated by the Lord of Corruption, it revealed to his followers all prime sources of power in the universe. The Royal Guard being the main force to venture out and take what did not belong to them. The people of Tric were a peaceful warrior race. All conflict was dealt with displays of power before an official challenge of will was initiated. In the case where an argument escalated to violent measures they would simply transport themselves to a near by planet in their system (one populated immensely with Citrele).  Since all the planets had a source of Citrele, the feat of interplanetary travel could be done with ease if one could harness the power within: the body's natural electrical currents.

In this time period we follow a boy named Caen, straight out of the womb the Royal Guard of Tric implemented the use of a prototype Power Vest (PV) that would greatly hinder his natural abilities. Around the age of 17 the vest must be swapped out in order to accommodate his ever increasing power level. They place him in a chamber that would proportionally suppress his power so that he would not detect the lie that has made him who he is to this point, weak.

Through what appeared to be divine intervention, in the near by testing facility where the criminally deranged and mentally unstable were subject to inhumane experiments, a "failed" experiment wrecks the place and "frees" Caen from the chain of lies that bound him. The sudden release of energy overwhelms him and he obliterates what remains of the RG scientists and the building. His opponent Golyth sees this as an opportunity to overthrow the RG and the Trician Government. Unfortunately for him Caen's faith in his people and the law decimates Golyth.

Caen teams up with Samuel who forges a PV that aids Caen in controlling his energy by storing excess energy that can be tapped into at will. Samuel mentors Caen and guides him in find out who he is and how to better use his abilities. Tom doesn't come into the picture until the very end, when Caen and Tom must decide the fate Tric by either genocide or self-sacrifice for the greater good of the universe.

Beahementeh the Prodigal Sacrifice

Lets make things short and sweet...

Beahementeh is based on the creature called Behemoth and his ability to use sound to destroy his targets is inspired by the "Bloop" recorded back in 1997.

Originally I had written somewhat of synopsis for a movie about the Bloop, making it a creature that annihilates worlds. It resided in the deep waters of the Pacific , and only a rose when it awakened from Pits slumber. Once it arose to cause havoc on Earth, our world's best militaries try to take it down, but to no avail. The creature proves to be unstoppable and ends up blowing a hole through the center of the Earth. Think Cthulhu. You can imagine the size of the creature with the amount of power I envisioned it to have. Too bad Guillermo del Toro beat me to the punch with Pacific Rim.

The behemoth I use for the name just to make a light reference or maybe even a nickname almost. Beahementeh is supposed to be enormous and powerful just as the behemoth mentioned in Job 40, but the description is not the same, similar but not exact. Combine the two concepts and you get the dragonkin creature Beahementeh.

P.S. He's a wyrm

Epilogue, Part 1

"Was it of elder age or mortal wounds? Was from sickness without medical attention? No matter the reason the out come was still the same. A man came here to rest in my shade. Came here to watch birds build their nests, ants take what they need, and the sun set in the sky. He came here to rest his head on one of my roots and let the soft earth massage his body. This man who came here to experience life as his very own seeped out of consciousness."

He awoke in a dark murky room, subtle flashes of lightning illuminated the unknown that was a modest bedroom. He sat upright exiting his comfort zone, allowing the moist air, that air that only arises when it rains, to gently rip across his back. To his right lay his beloved, a woman he did not know but had come to know. He had no memory other than the few seconds of time that had expired. His name was Tom, but thats all he could make out.

A knock on the door down stairs prompted him to take action. He passed his son's bed room, and then a surge of suppressed emotions overcame him like a tidal wave of sharpened knives. *Doki, he could hear his heart, *doki, and with each beat, *doki, he eyes began to glow a fierce orange, *doki, muscles in his arm contracted, *doki, another knock on the door, *doki, and then, *doki, he remembered.

The Eight Elemental Blades...

In The Galactic Conquest there are 13 Lords and Avatars. Eight of them required constructs to keep them in sentient existence, had they not created these items they would fade in to a force of nature. The other five did not need constructs but ended up creating their own to ensure universal stability. The eight beings that needed constructs were the lords and avatars of light and darkness, fire and water, earth and electricity; wind and ice. Each bladed was forged out of the creation of the avatars. The sword does the respective wielder's bidding, but can only harm the wielder.
When the avatars were created to stabilize the comprised lords, the blades and constructs were also crafted to stabilize the avatars themselves, or at least for the eight elemental avatars, least they too would leak into oblivion. And so the blades were created to act as both a seal (to prevent them from flowing out into a force of nature) and a vent (to allow the build of raw energy to be expelled in a controlled manner).
On top of the constructs acting as their medium for power and a fail-safe kill-switch, if the eight blades were combined they would bring balance to the eight elements should they become chaotically displaced (it should be noted that the eight and only the eight should be combined and not one extra).
There were two other blades crafted, the Kronosbane (Blade of Time) and the Gemátos Akyró̱soun (Blade of Space). The Kronosbane cannot ever be combined with the other blades since time cannot be undone and is ever flowing. The Gemátos Akyró̱soun on the other hand can be combined with any other blade, allowing the respective avatar to [temporarily] have an infinite amount of power. This is usually done to combat the flawed doings of Chaos; in a sense it creates a Blade of Chaos (of course augmented with the element).
This is exactly why the eight blades should nevar be combined with the Gemátos Akyró̱soun (the combination of the eight equals the power of a lord, adding the Gemátos Akyró̱soun would create a Diafthorá (Blade of Corruption), or a construct for the Corruption Lord [granting him a window, or a door, to this dimension and allowing him to further taint and corrupt what he already made degenerate and set for an eternal decay]).

The Shadow Dragons

Back on Dravon, with no immediate reference to this world’s connotation of the term “shadow dragon”, there is a rare type of dragon with the ability to shift into all the dragon-kin forms. They are called shadow dragons because of the infinite shapes and forms that shadows can be cast as. In the known universe of this dimension there exist (as in: have only ever existed, and can never be removed) two shadow dragons.
The first one, unfortunately (or quite possibly very fortunate for Tom) was malignant, hateful Kroythros the Death Dealing Demon. If there has ever been an entity more evil than the Lord of Corruption himself, it is Kroythros (Kro the Demon for short). Not much is known about him aside from the fact that he almost greedily consumed dravon itself. If it were not for his immense size and the sudden fear that manifested within the draken, Kro the Demon may have been still terrorizing the universe today, devouring one world after another. His defeat then, though, was not his last, he would fall into a near 1000 year slumber before waking in a suspended state (he was basically knocked out cold and then could wake up basically whenever crap he wanted).
Fast-forward another thousand or so years and we find Shadow the Xavado, the second shadow dragon and this time a player for our team. You’ll find him from time to time either referenced or seen in combat and conversation throughout the Galactic Conquest, but little is known that he was the one that sent Kro the Demon to the grave yet again. Apparently, during his more youthful years when he had just reached the precipice of his maturity, a visit from his future self greatly changed the course of history (Shadow of the Future and Tom find a great problem with the way things turned out and figure that it’d be best to send him back in time to correct a few things to ultimately save the universe). Long story short, Shadow of the Past was very arrogant and proud of his shifting abilities before he was possessed by Shadow of the Future. Shadow of the Future controlled Shadow of the Past and absorbed a portion of Kro the Demon’s soul (this is the unique ability of Kro, his power emanated from the soul and that is why he could not easily be defeated: because his very core was corrupted [he was as powerful as he was evil]).
After that fiasco was over and the corrections made, Shadow of the Future released Shadow of the Past, leaving him up to his own nature. Before the ripples of time could wipe Shadow of the Future, the once again arrogant Shadow of the Past absorbed Shadow of the Future in an attempt to become as strong as Kro, as punishment Shadow of the Future created an energy maker within the mind of Shadow of the Past so that forever until he dies he will always live with the haunting voice of a much more omniscient Shadow. When the ripples of time finally caught up, this left Shadow of the Past, and he became known as Shadow the Xavado, literally meaning Shadow the Shadow since he was a shadow of his former self.
This is why he now carries this sense of dread with him, this is why he is calm one moment and boiling with anger in the next, he is (in a sense) one with the planet (since the planet is known as the planet of change) because there are two very different personas in constant conflict. Shadow the Xavado is the product of madness and out of the destruction of the Future and Past’s souls, out of the fragments of what remains, Xavado exists. It is not known for sure if this is what Tom and Shadow from the Future intended to happen since that Tom no longer exists, but it seems to be working out quite alright so you can’t complain.
Looking back on everything I just stated, I guess Shadow Dragons are innately power hungry.

Silly lil' updates

I've been working on some stuff to release, I can't put on a date on it yet, but I will not disappoint!

I have started a new blog, this one takes place before The Galactic Conquest, but it is not a prequel (more like a background to one of the characters). I'll put the link at the bottom of this post for everyone to see! Also, I will get to answering some questions and removing some confusion that may be lurking around. All I can say is thank you for commenting and praising and questioning! I shall provide a light for this darkness within a week or so.
There's not much more to say, I wish I could keep up with the weeks going by, but my academics are keeping me preoccupied. Remember to check every other week for new posts; I will be getting back to that rhythm soon!

The Magic Man

11:11PM
Ugh! I hate blackouts, more so because I can't read my analog watch. Who even uses analog watches anymore?! Last time I checked it was 11:07PM. Its been nearly pitch black since then. The only source of light I have is furnace. Not a very convenient way to stay warm in this new century, nor a very bright way for light. I think someone broke in a few moments ago, doesn't matter since the only way in here is through the dumb waiter on the second floor.

Sometime later...
I felt something strange, something cold. I dare not look up from my crouched position, the shadows are moving in an unnaturally natural way, I hear footsteps on the wooden planks above me, and then all around me! Perhaps I am hearing things, or rats maybe? NO! It can't be! My eyes deceive me! The entity, appears before me out of shadows! This is not right, this is unnatural! His silhouette is dancing in the flashes of the fire! Is it a human?!

Even later...
What a strange being he was. To find out that this house has a history at a time like this, you can't trust a China-man these days, you couldn't trust them then and you can't trust them now! Apparently this house used to be a boarding house of some sort for the those that came looking for gold centuries ago. They regularly practiced the conjuration of "familiar spirits" to help them find their fortune's fill. On one night an unlucky lad ventured into this basement and was caught up in a ritual flame, where he was consumed and became trapped in the shadows. Poor old sod, and yet he spoke of fantastical things that his misfortune had allowed him to witness. It seemed as though he wasn't cursing his cursed life, but rather making the best of it. But there was something sinister about him that made him appear... Now that I recall he had this thing about him that made his stories literally come to life!
He stood up and thanked me for the company, I asked him to where he was departing. He told me the storm was almost up and that when things get dry the furnace should not be left on. A very plain exit for the "Magic Man".
