Elemental Ice can occur in the presence of water molecules. It is considered a very aggressive manipulation since the user can turn the water around the opponent into solid ice at the drop of a hat. An experienced ice user can change the form of ice without having to revert it back to liquid water, which would be considered water manipulation.
Elemental Lightning comes from within at a fast pace, though it is not instantaneous of a reaction as with the explosiveness of elemental light, fire or ice, with a delay of .05 seconds, it still packs a good punch against all of the other elemental manipulations. Its unbiased effectiveness is envied by those who specialize in one element. Though it is not recommended in missions that require low profile users, the use of lightning being the most noticeable manipulation of the eight, with some creativity it can be much more useful in those stations than the quieter more subtle elements.
Earth manipulations are effective from both afar and in close combat. In a long range approach the user can simply cause an earthquake, whose magnitude is dependent on the user's focus and level of discipline, and in close combat stalagmites or stalactites have been proven to be very effective deterrents. It is considered one of the more, if not the most, defensive of the eight elemental manipulations.
Of all the techniques to master, Elemental Wind is hands down the most difficult. The amount of clarity and focus needed to manipulate the individual gaseous particles in the "air" and cause them to act in unison or in a group as a unit can be quite extensive. The fact that when used as a weapon it is near invisible to the naked unaided eye is why it is favored amongst assassins and low profile missions.
i just realized how similar these elemental techniques are to Avatar: the Last Airbender. :) But of course you got a few different elements.
ReplyDeleteThese things are very universal unless you get creative. Some of the characters in the GCTT get creative. They take manipulating the elements to the next level. In fact, I've just recently written up some more stuff to post on Manipulations.
